Kathe “Kay” (Seibert) Young, 82, of Easton, Pa, a longtime resident of Bridgewater, N.J., passed away on March 18, 2018 after a lengthy and brave battle with cancer.
A native of Kenilworth, N.J., Mrs. Young attended Kenilworth schools and graduated from Jonathan Dayton High School in Springfield, N.J.
She and her husband, William F. Young Jr., married in 1955. They lived in Missouri briefly while he served in the Air Force and later moved to Manville, N.J. In 1962 they moved to Bridgewater. Mrs. Young was a longtime volunteer at the Somerset Medical Center, a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Somerville, N.J., and an associate member of St. Paul’s 3rdLutheran Church in Palmer, PA. She was a member of The Somerset Women's Group, Holland Township Seniors, 60+ers Group, and the Ambassador Club of Palmer Pa.
The Youngs moved to Holland Township, N.J., in 1999 and then to Palmer Township, PA in 2014 with their daughter.
Mrs. Young’s life revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored. “Grammie” enjoyed visits and vacations with her grandchildren, always highlighted by card games and her delicious baking and cooking.
Mrs. Young reveled in holiday traditions, especially at Christmas, when she would hide a pickle ornament in the Christmas tree for the grandchildren to find and served German dishes such as wiener schnitzel and rouladen.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Marie Hinkel and Ludwig Seibert.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Young is survived by three cherished daughters, Donna Young-Gorky and her husband Paul of Asbury, N.J; Marlena Wilson and her husband Timothy of Wilmington, Mass; and Linda Andreychak and her husband Christopher of Palmer, Pa; her loving grandchildren, Kendyl Gorky of Allston, Mass.; Tyler Gorky of Brooklyn, N.Y; Nickolas Andreychak of Nazareth, Pa; Kevin Andreychak of Lebanon, N.J; Max Andreychak of Chicago, Sean Wilson of Chicago, Brian Wilson of Milford, Conn; and Colin Wilson of Woburn, Mass; six adored great-grandchildren and a nephew. She was also the grandmother of the late Brett Gorky.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the Branchburg Funeral Home. 910 RT 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, 08876.
Committal is private.
A Memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on April 7, 2018 at 4pm where here ashes will be interred.
