Wilma Papa, born on January 11, 1947, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, after a brief illness.

Wilma worked for several years at various insurance agencies and had been enjoying her retired years with Peter until his passing. Their favorite things to do included various types of travel, with cruising being their favorite way to travel. Those trips included many visits to islands, but the Alaskan cruise may have been their favorite. Wilma and Peter also enjoyed dining out on a never-ending quest to find the best Italian restaurants they could find.

Wilma was very proud of her time as a roller speed skater. She was a member of the Whitehouse Roller Rink speed team as well as competing for other rinks and teams throughout New Jersey at various times. Her skating career included many championships and trophies, as well as a few impactful crashes that all roller skaters will understand.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Peter Papa, her father William Burrell, stepmother Eleanor Burrell, mother Viola Blazier Burrell, brother Ronald Burrell, and half-brother Jonathan Burrell.

Wilma is survived by her sons Brian Hoppaugh and his wife Jennifer, William Hoppaugh and his wife Denise, and her grandchildren Zachary and Amanda. She will also be missed by her ever faithful and loved dog Rosa, her extended family at St. Bernard's Parish, and a very special circle of friends who have been part of her life for many years.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 3-7pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.

A prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 9:15am. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10am at St. Bernard R.C. Church in Bridgewater. Entombment to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery.
