Vincenzo Armetta Bridgewater, NJ Vincenzo Armetta, 80, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Carini Italy, (Province of Sicily), he immigrated to the United States where he lived in Brooklyn, NY for 24 years, before moving to Bridgewater, NJ, 21 years ago. Vincenzo worked as a mason tender for over 30 years for Local 79 in Manhattan, NY before his retirement in 1999. Vincenzo loved gardening and took great pride in his flower and vegetable gardens, making his famous tomato sauce, was a talented handyman, and was always ready to help anyone in need. Spending quality time with his family was what he cherished most, and he will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rosalia and Vincenzo Armetta; three brothers, Giuseppe, Antonino, and Salvatore; and one sister, Pietrina Passalaqua. Surviving are his beloved wife of 54 years, Maria Sassano Armetta; two adoring sons, Giuseppe "Joe" and wife Brenda of Honedale, PA, and Salvatore of Somerset, NJ; two loving daughters, Anna and husband Michael Fattore of Bridgewater, NJ, and Rosalia and husband Robert Acerbi of Raritan, NJ, eight cherished grandchildren, Vincent, Karina, Julia, Michael, Matthew, Marissa, Robert, and Nicolas; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 4-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Funeral services will start with a prayer at the funeral home at 9:00am on Monday, August 6, 2018, followed by a 10:00am funeral liturgy at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville.
