Valerie L. Babcock

Valerie L. Babcock, 79, of Park Ridge, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerville.

Valerie graduated from the University of Tulsa and spent her career in customer service and administrative work, most recently in the nonprofit world, serving for 15 years at the Nathan Kline Institute in Orangeburg, NY.

A member of Montvale Church, Valerie had a heart for service and for young people. She served in the nursery, as a youth leader, and as a Deaconess, directed church plays, and helped run weekly Bible clubs at local schools — quietly pouring into her community for decades.

In her free time, Valerie cherished trips to the beach, meeting friends at the Ridge Diner, and spending time with her family. Above all, she was a devoted Mimi to her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd R. Babcock; her mother, Mildred Todd; and her two sisters, Vilma Metleff and Sharon Peterson.

Surviving are her loving daughter, Erica, and caring son-in-law, Jason Dahl, of Branchburg, NJ, and her three cherished grandchildren, Ellie, MJ, and James.

The family will receive guests for a celebration of life at Stonecrest Community Church, 11 Technology Drive North, Warren, NJ on Saturday, April 18th. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am and a repast to follow.
