Thomas M. Saccone

Thomas M. Saccone, 76 of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at RWJ Hospital in Somerville. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Thomas resided in East Orange, Milburn, Montclair, and Nutley before moving to Branchburg.

Tom graduated from East Orange High School. He then went on to attend Seton Hall University where he received his Associates Degree. After graduating, Thomas worked for and retired from AT&T after 30 years of service. He started to work with the company as a Central Office Communications Technician, working his way up to one of AT&T's Project Managers for the other common carriers.

Mr. Saccone proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1968 during the Vietnam War from which is was honorably discharged. After attaining the rank of communications technician 2nd class serving in the Philippines, Vietnam (USS King, DLG-10) and Hawaii.

Mr. Saccone was an avid Giants and Yankees fan.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Carmela and Louis Saccone Sr., his brother Louis Saccone Jr., and both sets of his grandparents (Saccone and Picone).

Surviving are his older sister, Joan (Josephine) Muttie, a brother- in- law, Joseph Muttie, a sister- in -law, Kathleen Saccone, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews on both of Tom's side, his longtime loving and sensitive life partner and companion, Gail Smith. Tom also leaves behind his loveable canine companion, Cooper. They both adored each other.

Entombment will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 11:30am at Holy Cross Cemetery 340 Ridge Road North Arlington, NJ 07031.
