Thomas F. Dolan Jr.
Hillsborough, NJ
Thomas F. Dolan Jr., 77, of Hillsborough, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Brookdale Assisted Living. Born in Staten Island, New York, Tom resided in Marietta, GA before returning to New Jersey, where he raised his family, in 2021.
Tom received his bachelor's degree from Marist College with a major in history. While there, he spent a year living in the United Kingdom, an experience that significantly shaped his future and was counted among his fondest memories. After college, he enlisted as an Officer in the US Army stationed in Okinawa, Japan, where he received the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service.
A business development executive, Tom worked for Nielsen Bainbridge and its predecessor companies for more than 30 years before his retirement in 2007. His responsibility for the company's overseas business required significant international travel, an experience he deeply loved and enjoyed sharing with his wife, Jo.
A lover of good food and drink, Tom enjoyed traveling, experiencing new cultures and trying different cuisines. He took pride in entertaining family and friends, and in his younger years, he enjoyed an afternoon on the golf course. He was a voracious reader with a particular interest in history and current events and he loved art, particularly European painting. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Elizabeth and Thomas F. Dolan, his wife, Beverly Jo Dolan, and his brother John Dolan.
Surviving is his son, Thomas F. Dolan III (Robin) of Hillsborough, NJ; two loving daughters, Jennifer Dolan (Chris Young) of Washington, DC; Kimberly (Frank Cocuzza) of Hillsborough, NJ; and seven cherished grandchildren: Frankie, Lily, Nico, Erin, Harper, Kevin, and Claire.
