Steven Joseph Laird , 59, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 as a result of a motorcycle accident. Born in Irvington, he formerly resided in Elizabeth before moving to Bridgewater fifteen years ago. Steven worked as an installer/technician for Verizon for the last eight years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Liebhauser Laird in 1998 and a brother, James in 1947. Surviving are his beloved wife of six years, Susan Kass Laird, his dear brothers, William, and wife, Alexandra, of Hummelstown, PA and Roy, and wife, Joan, of Levittown, PA, two daughters, Leslie Axvig and husband, Nate and Sarah Akins and husband, John and his loving aunt, Agnes Wimmer of Basking Ridge. Funeral services will begin Friday at 9:45 AM with a prayer at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 500 Route 22 East, Bridgewater. Visitation hours are Thursday from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
