Spiros D. Tsilimidos Bridgewater, NJ Spiros D. Tsilimidos, 74, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born in Kefalonia, Greece, he immigrated to the United States in 1968 where he resided in New York, before moving to Bridgewater 45 years ago. Spiros was a proud communicant of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway for many years. While living in Greece he served in the Hellenic Navy and took great pride in it. Spiros enjoyed taking annual trips with his family to Greece every year and loved everything about his Greek heritage. He loved cooking, hosting family gatherings, and his family meant the world to him, especially his grandchildren who were the light of his life. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Loula and Mihalis Tsilimidos. Surviving are his beloved wife of 48 wonderful years, Helen; his loving daughter, Loula Tsilimidos of Bridgewater, NJ; his dear son, Michael and wife Darby of Branchburg, NJ; his wonderful brother, Vaggeli and wife Vasiliki of Kefalonia, Greece; his wonderful sister, Katherine Hionis of Montreal, Canada; two cherished grandchildren, Spiro and Stavros; and many adored nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Viewing will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 4-8pm with Trisagion service at 6pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Funeral services will start with a prayer at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 9:15am, followed by a 10:30am funeral mass at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway. Interment will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery.
