Sophie Wengryn, 77, of Hillsborough, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, March 12 at her home. She was born in Neshanic Station, NJ.
She attended the Little Red School House in Branchburg,
She graduated Goldey-Beacom College and worked at RCA in Branchburg.
After taking time off to raise her children, she worked in the Neshanic Station Post Office until her retirement.
She was happily married to her husband, Walter, for 33 years.
She was a member of the South Branch Reformed Church,
In her youth, Sophie enjoyed bowling, square dancing and 4-H.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, farming, taking day trips, antiquing, going out to eat with family and friends, but most importantly, spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Cecilia and Vincent Wilk; her beloved husband, Walter and her brother, Ted Wilk.
Surviving are her three dear sons, Bryan and wife, Lori of Flemington, NJ, Walter Jr. and wife, Barb of Hillsborough, NJ, and Scott and wife, Vera of Manville, NJ; her loving daughter, Suzanne Wengryn of Hillsborough, NJ; and cherished grandchildren, Kyle, Courtney, and Valerie.
Viewing will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 1-5pm and Monday, March 18, 2019 from 10am-11am with a prayer service at 11am at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
Burial will follow at New Cemetery in Somerville.
