Sandra Snyder

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sandra Snyder, who left us peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the age of 89.  Just shy of her 90th birthday, Sandy led a full life that she dedicated to her family. Born in Mineola, NY, Sandy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. Her kindness, generosity and sense of humor left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

After graduating high school and working as a bank teller, Sandy met her soulmate and the love of her life, William Snyder, Sr. and together they created a beautiful life that exemplified love, patience and respect. Sandy was an involved parent, volunteering and supporting her four children in all their activities. After raising her family in Bridgewater, NJ and working part-time at Reynolds Department Store, Sandy's adventurous spirit led her on exciting trips including sportfishing in Costa Rica and Canada, snowmobiling in upstate NY, and snorkeling in Hawaii.  Sandy was also always there to help care for her grandchildren, whether it was cuddling and rocking them to sleep or beating them at Candyland while sneaking them cookies and peanut M&Ms.

Sandy enjoyed playing cards, bowling and spending time on the beach in Montauk. Her deep love of the holidays and family traditions was rooted in what she believed mattered most in life - being together with the ones you love. Sandy's life advice rings true now more than ever: "Always be nice to others. Be happy and smile a lot."

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Milton Van Siclen, her beloved husband, William Snyder, Sr. (2018), and her sister, Gail Hayes.

Surviving are her dear son, William Jr. and wife Patricia Snyder of Matawan, NJ; three loving daughters, Nancy and husband Robert Carr of Lake Pleasant, NY; Diane Snyder of Hillsborough, NJ; Kathleen and husband William LaFave of Morristown, NJ; her brother, Garry and wife Fran Van Siclen of Pompano Beach, FL; many loving nieces and nephews especially Linda Hayes of Naples, FL who was like another daughter; and three cherished grandchildren, Robert William Carr, William Edward LaFave, and Cassandra Jean LaFave.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 3-5pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, 08876. A service will begin at the funeral home at 4:30pm.
