Salvatore G. Amodeo, 65, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at RWJ Hospital in Somerville after a strong, courageous fight. Born in Palermo, Sicily, Salvatore spent 50 plus years in Bridgewater. Salvatore was the owner of a prestigious sales rep company in the giftware industry along with his wife, Donna and his partners, Don and Mariann.
Sal loved spending time with his family and keeping their traditions going. He created many traditions that will be kept alive always, especially the special Christmas ones. He enjoyed golfing, watching soccer games, Formula 1 races and driving his car. Sal loved vacationing with his wife, family, and friends as well as spending time at his house in Florida and visiting Aruba. Family time was the most important to him. He loved Sunday dinners at his sister's house, sleepovers with his granddaughters, visiting Italy each year and making memories with all the people who meant so very much to him.
Sal took great pride in being involved in his children and grandchildren's lives. He coached his children's sports when they were younger and was always there to show his support no matter what. Sal was very proud of his children and supported them always. One of his greatest pleasures was being with his wife and always holding her hand.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Vincenza Vecchio and Pietro Amodeo.
Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years, Donna Belizzone Amodeo; a dear son, Peter Amodeo of Bridgewater, NJ; a loving daughter, Danielle (Amodeo) and husband Ed Caulfield of Bridgewater, NJ; four sisters, Giuseppa and husband Rosario Balliro of Bridgewater, NJ, Margherita, Angela, and Gaetana of Sicily, Italy; two cherished grandchildren, Marisa and Eliana; sister-in- law Michele Natale; brother-in-law Tom Belizzone and wife Jodi; nieces, nephews and a group of friends that were like family to him.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at St. Ann's R.C. Church at 11am.
