Rudolph I. Ulmer

Rudolph Ulmer, 87, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Laurel Circle in Bridgewater. Born in Stuttgart, Germany, Rudolph came to the United States in 1959. He then resided in Staten Island for 40 years before moving to Bridgewater 19 years ago.
Rudolph worked as a painter/wallpaper hanger for 40 plus years for N.Y.C. Hotel Tuscany before his retirement in 2002.
Mr. Ulmer was a member of the Knight of Columbus in Somerville, NJ and the 1422 Hotel Trades Union of NYC. Rudolph was an avid woodworker, gardener, and handyman who could fix anything. He enjoyed attending the Opera, listening to classic music and he loved to travel throughout Europe, and scuba diving. The one thing Rudolph enjoyed the most was spending quality time with his family especially his grandsons Thomas and James.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Anna and Lukas Ulmer, his brother, Kurt Ulmer, and his grandson, Thomas.
Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Jeanet Solla Ulmer, His loving daughter, Jenny and husband Michael Knapp of Bridgewater, NJ; one cherished grandson, James Knapp, and his feline companion, Piper.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 3-7pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876.
A prayer service will begin on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 9:15am at the Branchburg Funeral Home. Funeral mass will follow at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville, NJ. Committal is private.
