Rose Kaplan, 102, of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022 at Laurel Circle. Born and raised in Bayonne, NJ, Rose was the daughter of the late Zigmund and Lillian Jaminski. Rose lived in Roselle, NJ for 50 years before moving to Bridgewater in 2008.
Rose graduated from Bayonne High School in 1937 and attended Pace Business School in NYC where she then went to work for Esso Shipping and Refinery in Bayonne.
After WWII, Rose married her childhood sweetheart, Stephen Kaplan and they shared 48 years together before his death in 1998. Rose was an avid reader and loved to travel with her Senior Citizen's group. She also enjoyed classic movies starring Joan Crawford, watching EWTN, and loved listening to music - from Chopin to a good polka. While living in Bridgewater, she became a communicant of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church.
The highlight of her life was spending time with her family - singing Sto Lat on birthdays to eating pierogies on Christmas, and every moment in between. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Denise and Don Pachuta, her grandchildren Scott Pachuta and Lindsey Miceli, their spouses, and her four great-grandchildren Nolan, Madelyn, Bailey, and Jack, the loves of her life.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the Branchburg Funeral home 910 Rt. 202 S., Branchburg, NJ. Friday, February 11, the funeral will begin with the Celebration of Mass, 10:00 AM at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church 500 US-22, Bridgewater. Interment will take place at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave, Colonia.
