Rose (Rosel) Gruen, 87, of Neshanic Station, NJ, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at her residence. Born in Steinheim, Am Main Germany, Rosa immigrated to the United States in 1957. She resided in Fords, NJ for 30 years before moving to Neshanic Station 28 years ago. Rosa was a member of the Deutscher Club of Clark, NJ. She enjoyed cooking and was an excellent baker. She loved to knit, crochet, and sewing where she would make her own clothing. Not only did she make her own, but she even made her dress to wear at her daughter's wedding. She was a member of the Flemington Social Stitchers. Rosa was an avid gardener and loved to travel internationally. She had a great love for dogs, cats, and birds. One thing Rosa enjoyed the most was spending quality time with her family and her extended family. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, AnnaMaria and Franz Doenges, three brothers, Helmut Doenges, Erich Doenges, and Josef Doenges, two sisters, Katharina Buchner and Marianne Staroste, and her beloved husband of 42 years, Heinz Harold Gruen (1992). Surviving are her loving daughter, Ulrike and husband Jorge Ocasio of Neshanic Station, NJ; one sister, Gisela and husband Konrad Loebel of Fords, NJ; and many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 11-1pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Meghan Rose Bradley Foundation 6 Preston Drive Branchburg, NJ 08876. Committal is private.
