Obituary

Romeo R. Aloia Whitehouse Station, NJ Romeo Aloia, 93, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Hunterdon Medical Center. Born in Bronx, NY, Romeo resided in Bridgewater for 32 years and Galloway for 18 years before moving to Whitehouse Station 4 years ago. Romeo graduated from Evander Childs High School in Bronx, NY, Class of 1945. After graduating, he went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Science at the City College of New York. Romeo worked as a Research Chemist for 40 years before retiring in 1999. Romeo served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he was a band member and played the Clarinet and Saxophone and where he met his beautiful bride Catherine. Romeo was an avid reader and loved music including, opera, jazz and classical genres. He was always involved in his grandchildren's lives. He enjoyed cooking, baking, making ice cream, and going to soccer games. He loved to tend to his vegetable garden, making wine and tomato sauce, and enjoyed traveling throughout Europe. The one thing Romeo enjoyed the most was spending quality time with his family especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Agnes and Gennaro Aloia, and a brother, Mario Aloia. Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Catherine Brocoli Aloia, his dear son, Raymond and wife Keri Aloia of Neshanic Staion, NJ; a loving daughter, Christine Soma Aloia of Santa Fe, NM; a brother, Attilio Aloia of Bridgewater, NJ; two cherished grandchildren, Alec and Amanda, and several nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 9:15am. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 10am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton church in Three Bridges, NJ. Interment will take place on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 11:30am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in Romeo's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
