Robert C. Zimmerman Raritan, NJ Robert (Bob) Zimmerman, 78, of Raritan, NJ, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, Robert grew up in South Bound Brook, graduating from Bound Brook High School in 1961. While living multiple places throughout his life, he spent the majority of his adult years living in South Bound Brook. Mr. Zimmerman worked as a Supervisor for Union Carbide for many years before retiring in 1985. After retiring, he enjoyed spending his time on his boat in Barnegat, and time at the gun range. Bob was an avid gun collector and member of the NRA. He loved to repair and restore military radios, watches, and computers. In his younger days, he enjoyed camping and fishing on the beach with his family & golden retrievers. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Dorothy and Robert Zimmerman, his son, Robert C. Zimmerman, Jr., and a brother-in-law, Tony Mezzacca. Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Judy Fox Zimmerman; two daughters, Cari James and fiancé Greg Kiddish of Somerset, NJ; and Wendi Zimmerman and husband Scott Mihalick of Bridgewater, NJ; one sister, Joan Mezzacca of Edison, NJ; five grandchildren, Ashley, Chelsea, Zoe, Anastazia, and Eliza; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are private. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
