Robert A. Verner

Branchburg, NJ

Robert A. Verner, 75, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rahway, NJ, Robert grew up in Clark, and Basking Ridge before moving to Branchburg 36 years ago.

Robert graduated from Clark High School, Class of 1966. He then went on to receive his Master's degree from NJIT. Robert worked for the Department of Transportation as a Project Manager for 45 years.

Robert worked for many years past retirement due to the love of engineering and people he worked with at The Department of Transportation.

Robert was a member of the North Jersey Ski Club. He was an avid Giants fan and a history fanatic who always loved old fashion cars.

He loved spending time at the shore in his family's beach house. He also enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, skiing, and boating with friends and family. He was a philosopher and historian. Robert enjoyed discussing the intrigues of European courts and reviewing the tactics of historical battles, primarily 1455's Wars of the Rose and later. He took time and enjoyed exploring genealogy and researching some of the many digital images of log books that are now available about when his ancestors came to America. One of Robert's great grandfathers was a star architect in the Darjeeling area in India.

Most importantly, Robert enjoyed spending quality time with his family especially his granddaughter, Ava.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Eileen and Robert Verner.

Surviving are his loving daughter, Robbin Petreeko and partner Greg of Wellington, FL; three sisters, Carol Patalano of Toms River, NJ; Sharon Keiber of Greenwood Lake, NY; Nancy Monroe of VA; his cherished granddaughter, Ava, and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces.
