Robert W. Stephans, 86, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023 in Paramus, NJ. Born in Newark, NJ, Robert resided in Westwood NJ for 35 years before moving to Branchburg 15 years ago.

Robert graduated from Essex County Vocational and Technical High School in 1955. He received his Associate Degree in Aviation Technology from Perdue and then went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Sciences from Farleigh Dickenson University in 1974. Robert also holds certifications in the field of Metallurgy Technology.

Robert joined the U.S. National Guard and served from 1960-1966.

Robert worked for Ford Motor Company as a Mechanical Engineer for more than 20 years before his retirement in 2002.

He was an avid fan of model trains, and loved to travel. He took great pride in his home and keeping it up to date. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Helene and Clarence Stephans and his beloved wife, Marcia Schiaffino Stephans (2007).

Surviving are his son Todd Stephans of Lodi, NJ; his loving daughter, Dawn Stephans of New Milford, NJ; his companion of 15 years, Sondra Wendell of Branchburg, NJ;; his brother, Richard Stephans of Boulder City, NV and his nieces, Helen Henry, Debbie Hendricks and Julie Calloway.
