Robert "Bob" Perdue, 81, of Flemington, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the Hunterdon Medical Center. Never one to sit still, Bob always kept busy and lived a long, memorable, impactful, and hard-working life. He was a husband for 56 years, a father for 53 years, and a grandfather for 18 years. Bob was a great man who loved nothing more than being with his family. Born in Somerville, NJ, Bob resided in Warren, NJ for 17 years, but it was Quakertown, in Hunterdon County, he called home for the last 36 years. Robert graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1956. He served in the National Guard for 10 years achieving the rank of Master Sargent. Bob was a dedicated Giants fan and long-time season ticket holder, going back to the days of the Yale Bowl. He loved taking his family to Lake Wallenpaupack, and all were fortunate to spend time there the last several summers as one great big family. Bob was one of those guys it seemed everyone knew and admired. Active in the community as a business owner, a member and treasurer of Quakertown Methodist Church, and a guy who liked to jokingly "bust the chops" of just about everyone he came across, Bob endeared himself to many. Our community lost one of the good guys. To his family he was, and will continue to be, a legend. His wit, work ethic, pride and sometimes unintentional sense of humor lives on in his children and grandchildren. If you were to ask any of his three children, their spouses or eight grandchildren, each would smile and happily recount a favorite story…which could take a while, because there are so many. He will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Eleanor and Robert C. Perdue and his brother, Marty Perdue and wife, Aurelia. Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, April Coutant Perdue, two dear sons and daughter, Robert S. Jr. and wife Stacie Perdue of Flemington, NJ; Stephen and wife Lisa Perdue of Pittstown, NJ; Pamela and husband Glenn Koehler of Stockton, NJ; one sister, Pearl and husband Ted Kobran of GA; and eight cherished grandchildren, Stephen, Paige, Hunter, Sydney, Mack, Cole, Charlotte, and Zoey.
