Robert J. Morella , 73, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013. Born in Bound Brook and a former resident of Raritan, Robert resided in Branchburg for the past 48 years. Mr. Morella was the president of Casamorella, Inc. for 25 years, until 1990. He then worked for various furniture stores throughout the area until 2008. Robert was a communicant of St. Ann's R. C. Church in Raritan. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge #1068, Somerville and a member of the American Legion Post 12, Somerville. Robert enjoyed gardening, dining out, and taking trips to the Jersey shore, especially Lavallette and Wildwood. He was very proud of his Italian heritage. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Robert was a people person, with an infectious smile. He was considered a sweet, kind and gentle man with a warm personality. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, M. Dominic and Madeline Morella. Surviving are his beloved wife of 48 years, Carolyn Macko Morella; his three cherished daughters, Susan Becker and husband, Scott of Bridgewater, Sandra Malek and husband, Gerard of Flemington, and Nicole Morella and husband, James Langenbach of Alexandria, VA; his nine grandchildren, Kyle, Cole, Jake, Cara, Jana, Emily, Mia, Tyler, and Paige; his dear brother, Vincent Morella and wife, Cheryl of Branchburg; his dear sister, Nancy Sferra of Raritan; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:15 AM on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by a 10 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Ann's R.C. Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan. Entombment will be at St. Bernard Mausoleum, Route 28, Bridgewater. Viewing hours are Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
