Robert J. Jaeger , 76, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010, at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in Queens, NY, he resided in Somerville, and then Martinsville, before moving to Bridgewater eight years ago. Mr. Jaeger served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1960. He worked as a Manager in the Materials Management Department of AT&T for 36 years, before his retirement in 1989. Robert was a member of the Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus Somerset Council #1432, and a member of AA, celebrating 27 years of sobriety. Mr. Jaeger was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Martinsville. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Joan M. Fillippelli Jaeger in 2006, his grandson, Anthony Jaeger, and his brother, Charles. Surviving are his two loving daughters, Joan Marie McKibben and husband, Ernest of Harmony and Debbie Jaeger and partner, Valerie Christman of Matawan. His three dear sons, Neil C. and wife, Claudia, Robert S. and wife Michelle, both of Branchburg, and Christopher D. of Hillsborough, his seven cherished grandchildren, Alexander and Andrew McKibben, Patrick, Victoria, Emily, Sydney, and Elizabeth Jaeger, his brother Donald and wife Janet of Hamptons, NY, and his sister Rosemary Saundry of Elmont, Long Island, NY. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 with a prayer at 9:15AM , at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 U.S. Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876, 908-526-7638, followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, 1890 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville; interment will be at St.Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater. Viewing hours are Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00PM at the funeral home.
