Robert M. Daily , 72, a long time resident of Bridgewater, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey City, he grew up in Kearny and was the son of the late Robert Daily and Anna Bray Daily. Bob was a graduate of Kearny High School and upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was later drafted into the US Army and served in Korea. He was then honorably discharged from both the Navy and Army. He married his sweetheart, Marguerite Snyder of Kearny, in 1962. He attended NCE and began his career in the Plastic Industry in research and development at Celanese Labs in Clark, NJ. Bob had more than 46 years in the industry in working for corporations such as Mattel, General Polymers, Bamberger Polymers and PolyOne. He was a member of the S.P.E. (Society of Plastic Engineers) and S.P.I. (Society of Plastic Industry) and served as President of the S.P.E. He was also a proud co-inventor of a newly patented tool with his son, Kevin. Bob was an avid golfer, loved to garden, vacation in Wildwood Crest and spend quality time with his family and grandchildren. Surviving are his beloved wife of 46 years, Marguerite; his three devoted sons, Brian, and his wife, Maria of Randolph; Kevin of Bridgewater; and Jason of Livingston and Gina of Bayville; two cherished grandchildren, Alexa and Garrett; his dear mother-in-law, Marguerite Snyder of North Arlington; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Hackett and husband, Art, and Elaine McDonnell and her late husband, Robert and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 9:15 AM at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 500 Route 22 East, Bridgewater. Viewing hours will be Friday, April 24, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
