Robert C. Craig, 78, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Waterfront Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Born in Jersey City, Robert grew up and spent the next 70 years in Bayonne before moving to Bridgewater.

Robert attended several colleges receiving a BA in Elementary Education and an MA in Elementary Education along with an MA in Administration and Supervision.

Robert was with the Bayonne Public Schools system for 47 years. He served as Principal of Mary J Donohoe School, Washington School and John Bailey School before serving as Assistant Superintendent of Schools for 17 years.

Robert was also a member of First Baptist Church of Bayonne where he was a Deacon and then Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He was also a Youth Leader for many years.

He is a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve having served during the Vietnam War.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Craig.

Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Craig (nee Baron) and his two dear sons, Robert and his wife Jessica and their two children, Owen and Charlotte and Timothy Craig and his two children, Henry and Eleanor.

Funeral services will be private.
