Robert "Bob" Bench Sr. , 69, died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at his residence in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he formerly resided in Branchburg having moved to Stuart, FL from 1999 to 2003 and then to Port St. Lucie, FL for the past four years. Bob formerly owned and operated E & B Marine Supplies of Edison, N.J. for 30 years until 1985. He was a former communicant of Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Bridgewater. Bob was a past president and a member of the American Racers Drivers Club. Surviving are his beloved wife of 48 years, Carolyn Johnston Bench, his loving sons, Robert "Bob" Bench, Jr., of Largo, FL and Thomas "Tom" Bench, of Brick, N.J., his cherished grandchildren, Kasey, Robert III and Jennifer, his loving mother, Elizabeth Bench of Lakewood, NJ and a dear brother, Gerald Bench and wife, Virginia, of Lakewood, NJ. Funeral services will begin 8:45 AM Friday with a prayer at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, N.J., followed by a 9:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 60 Maple Street, Bridgewater. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, N.Y. Visitation hours are Thursday from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
