Rita J. Larkin , 84, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in West New York and a former resident of Hillsborough, Rita resided in Branchburg for the past 32 years. Ms. Larkin worked as a secretary for Allied Chemical in Morristown for 40 years, retiring in 1988. Rita enjoyed dancing, swimming, skiing and going out to dinner. She also enjoyed taking trips to the Bahamas twice a year. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister. Surviving are her loving companion of 50 years, John A. Sollazzo; one niece and one nephew. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by a 10 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 500 Route 22 East, Bridgewater. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Route 28, Bridgewater. Viewing hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
