Richard Frederick Stanco, Sr., 89, passed into eternal life on July 11. He was born in Newark, NJ on June 20, 1932, son of Pasquale and Louise Stanco, both deceased and was predeceased by his brother Pasquale and sister Muriel. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lola (Jones) Stanco, his children, Lynn Degen (Michael), Richard Stanco, Jr. (Katherine) and Nan Okarma (Paul), and his grandchildren, Michael Degen, Charles Degen, Alexandra Stanco and Danielle Stanco and many nieces and nephews. Richard graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark and Tulane University in New Orleans where he was a proud member of the singing group The Fourlanians. After graduation, Richard served in the US Air Force as First Lieutenant. Upon honorable discharge, he became a regional sales manager for Celebrity, Inc of New York City before starting his own sales company, Premier Sales. He enjoyed antique cars, music and sports. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and going to their events. He was a longtime member of the Bridgewater United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School, ushered, and was a member of the Men's Group. Burial will be at Park Lawn Memorial Park in Hampton, VA on Saturday, July 17 at 11:00 am. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Bridgewater United Methodist Church.
