Richard Diakos

Branchburg, NJ

Richard Diakos, age 90, passed away on March 23, 2024 at Foothill Acres in Hillsborough, NJ after a short illness. Richard was born on November 10, 1933 to Tessie and Frank Diakos.

Richard graduated from Summit high School in 1951, where he was a star basketball player helping his team win many tournaments. He was an outstanding salesman at a young age and went on later to own his own Vending Company. Later in life, he worked for an Auto Sales Company, once again using his sales skills.

Between 1952-1956, Richard served out country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He joined his wife, Phyllis in Russia for 9 days in the late 90s for part of her month-long project as a US/Soviet Student Exchange.

He enjoyed listening to music of all genres, watching his Yankees, animal shows on TV, and the Andy Griffin show. Richard loved his wife's cooking, especially her Italian food.

Richard enjoyed spending time with his family especially during the holidays, birthdays and other special occasions.

Richard leaves to mourn him, his loving wife Phyllis Diakos, her children, Jeanine, Dominic, and Darlene, and his daughter, Denise Osmulski (from his first marriage), son-in-law, Frank Osmulski, four granddaughters, Megan, Jaime, Kelly, and Caitlin, and their significant others and great-grandson, baby Cooper, two sisters, Susan and Becka and their families.

Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
