Raymond Levonaitis, 83, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Raymond spent his early years in Middlesex, NJ, before settling in Bridgewater 41 years ago. A proud graduate of Bloomfield Tech Vocational School, Class of 1959, he built a career as an independent mechanical engineer, working for 45 years until his retirement in 2005.

Ray's passions in life extended beyond his profession. He was a beloved coach of baseball and basketball, an avid sports fan, and found joy in fishing and hunting. He was a dedicated member of the Polish Falcons and the Elks, and he made a lasting impact by founding the Billy Richards Kidney Fund, which helped a young boy receive a life-saving kidney transplant. A talented athlete, Ray was also drafted by the Cincinnati Reds following his graduation.

Above all, Ray treasured time spent with his family—especially his grandchildren and great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by his parents, Madeline and Alvin Levonaitis, and his brother, Donald Levonaitis.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Levonaitis; his children, Ken and wife Kathy of Branchburg, NJ; Kevin and wife Patricia of Hillsborough, NJ; and Barbara and husband Jimmy McNeill of Bridgewater, NJ. Ray also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren—Julie, Jackie, Stefani, Scot, Jenny, Samantha, Rachael, and Sean—and his adored great-grandson, Hunter.

Raymond's legacy of love, generosity, and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 3-7pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.

Funeral mass will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:30am at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church 600 Harris Ave, Middlesex, NJ 08846. Entombment to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ.
