Pien Nagy of Branchburg, NJ passed away on August 22, 2024 at the Center for Hope and Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ. Pien Nagy was born in Taiwan and came to the United States at age 17 attended Somerville HS and later graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth with a major in mathematics.
She worked for many years at Ortho Diagnostics in Bridgewater, from which she retired. In retirement, Pien volunteered at local schools providing educational and personal support to many student.
During her free time, Pien became an active volunteer at the Theater at Raritan Valley Community College. She made meals for local food pantries that served area residents. She was a member of the Bridgewater Garden Club and worked on many beatification projects, including a therapy garden for the Bridgewater Adult Daycare Center. Pien was also a member of the Somerset County Photography Club where she mentored new photographers and received many awards for her photography. Pien enjoyed photography and gardening and was active in both groups. She was an amazing chef, and her family always enjoyed her traditional Taiwanese dishes.
She is preceded in death by her step-father, Michael Nagy, her step-brother, Leonard Nagy, and step-sister, Shirley Cerach.
She is survived by her mother, Chiang (Gim) Nagy of Bridgewater, NJ; her cousins, Arthur Slack and Anne Kenyon of Ringoes, NJ; her cousin Barbara Stahl of Lecanto, FL; her family in Taiwan which include: her aunts, Wu Yueh Mei Chen, Chen Mei Sho Wang, Chih-Chih Chen Fang and her cousins, Tsong Fu Yeh and Mei-ER Yuan, and many friends that cherished their time spent with her. The family would like to thank her dear friends, Jim and Debbie Clerkin for their compassion and support. Pien will be greatly missed as she always had a smile on her face and an encouraging word for everyone she met.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 4-7pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Inurnment will held be at a later date at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield, NJ.
