Phyllis C. Del Vento

Phyllis C Del Vento, 79, of Princeton, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Princeton Medical Center. A life-long New Jersey resident, Phyllis was born in Nutley, and spent the majority of her life in Millington, until her recent move to Princeton.

Phyllis took great pride in her intellect, and received her Bachelor's Degree from Hartwick College in New York. She ultimately obtained two Master's Degrees in Psychology. An English teacher at Livingston High School for 20 years, Phyllis was always happy to share that she was a favorite teacher of actor Jason Alexander.

She had a deep passion for poetry and literature, especially the works of Shakespeare and Langston Hughes, and took immense pride in her penmanship and grammar.

A great beauty in her youth, Phyllis loved the finer things in life; traveling throughout Europe, shopping, and doing her hair and makeup every day without fail.

Phyllis had a deep love for animals, and was extremely connected to the family pets that she had over the years. Her greatest joy, however, was her family, whom she loved unconditionally.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Helen and Benjamin Karpson, and her husband and the love of her life, Nunzio Del Vento (2010).

Surviving are her cherished daughter, Alexis Del Vento and husband Nikolai Tymkiw of Bridgewater, New Jersey, and her two adoring grandchildren, Maksim and Daphne. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Carol Schoenlieber of New Hope, Pennsylvania; her loving nieces, Kerry (Scott) Stuhlmuller and Kristin Schoenleber; and beautiful extended family, Robert, Zachary, Shaine, Jenna and Camryn.
