Phillip "Phil" Sandler, 68, of Branchburg, NJ passed away peacefully on August 3, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, Phil moved to Kingston, NY to attend Ulster County College. He lived in Madison, NJ for over 20 years before moving to Branchburg, NJ 18 years ago.
Phil was a Chauffeur, a Bartender, and owned his own window washing business. He also served our country in the U.S. Air Force.
Phil was known for his ability to tell jokes and to make people smile. Early in his life, Phil enjoyed swimming, diving, and cycling. He was a member of the American Legion. Phil loved his dog Chelsea, fishing, and antique cars. Phil was an excellent chess player and avid Giants fan. He never missed any of his sons' football games. More than anything in his life, Phil loved spending quality time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and he will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents Ethel and Moe Sandler.
Surviving are his three dear sons, Ethan and Brett Sandler of Branchburg, NJ; Casey and wife Yumiko Sandler of Tokyo, Japan; one loving daughter Jennifer and husband Michael Panagos of Freehold, NJ; one brother Ted and wife Ellen Sandler of Wellington, FL; four adored granddaughters, Katelyn, Ella, Emi, and Misa; many wonderful cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his loving dog Chelsea.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 2-4pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway Route 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. Followed by a 4pm prayer service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, 195 Little Albany Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 and St. Hubert's Animal Shelter. 3201 US Highway 22, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
