Peter J. Mulvey passed away on Friday August 30, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center. Born in Newark, NJ, Peter resided in Branchburg after moving from his retirement home in Manchester.

Peter went to St. Benedict's High School and then onto Newark College of Engineering (Now NJIT) where he received both his bachelor's and master's degrees. Until his passing he followed the coming and goings of both St. Benedict's and NJIT and donated to both. After college Peter worked with a team of people who built the backup guidance system for the lunar landing module for Apollo 13 and was later part of numerous defense contracts.

Peter cherished his Irish heritage and went on vacation in Ireland where he met his cousin who was the president at that time. He talked about his time in Ireland right up to the end. He went on a cruise around the Mediterranean and also took a trip out west to numerous national parks. He truly enjoyed his retirement.

Peter has now joined his wife Brenda who passed March 3rd of this year. Surviving are his son Peter Jr. and wife Christine of Tucson, AZ; son James and wife Deborah of Castle Pines, CO.; and his grandchildren, Aileen (Peter and Christine) and James (James and Deborah) whom he truly adored.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 8am-9am with a prayer service beginning at 9:15am at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876.

Funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church in Bridgewater, NJ. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven in East Hanover, NJ.
