Bridgewater, NJ
Pamela Sloane-Woodgate, 63, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 after a long battle with breast cancer. Born in Morristown, NJ Pamela resided in Mendham for most of her youth life before moving to Bridgewater 20 years ago.
Pamela graduated from West Morris Mendham High School, Class of 1977. After graduation, Pamela went on to receive her Degree from Miami International Fine Arts College.
Early in her career, Pamela worked in visual merchandising display for Stern Brothers and Federated Department Stores in New York and New Jersey. Pamela started her path as an interior decorator while working for both Stirling Interiors and Re Do It Renew It, in Sterling N.J. She eventually acquired the business, Sterling Interiors and had locations in Sterling and Bernardsville. Her breast cancer diagnoses over four years ago caused her to close her business so she could focus on her health.
Pamela was a devoted and loyal sister to her 3 siblings. She quickly assumed a nurturing role to her two youngest siblings Jim and Deirdre after the unexpected passing of their mother, Sarena Sloane. A compassionate daughter, Pamela cared unselfishly for her ailing father, Jim Sloane while driving back and forth to Vermont, attending to his needs and maintaining the home she provided for him. A proud and attentive Aunt to her only nephew, Chas she traveled thousands of miles with her sister, supporting his high school and Div. I college career. She was a best friend and loyal sister to her closest sibling, Tara. They shared many of their years together doing what was always best for others and keeping the family connected. Pam was also a fabulous cat mom to all her felines over the years. She was also loyal friend to many.
A home body at heart, Pamela was most happy relaxing, reading a good book with her cats nestled in surrounding her. Her interests included decorating, gardening and spending time on the beach. Her simple pleasure was spending quality time with her family. She will be greatly missed by many.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Sarena and James Sloane, her maternal grandparents, Lillian Conklin Mischiara and Rosario Sar Mischiara, and her paternal grandparents, Rita Sloane and James V. Sloane.
