Mildred J. Moore
Branchburg, NJ
Mildred J. Moore, 91, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Brandywine at Middlebrook Crossing in Bridgewater. Born and raised in Somerville she was a lifelong resident attending Somerville High School, graduating in 1950.
She later attended Somerset Vo-Tech where she received her degree in Nursing. Upon graduation, she went on to work at Somerset Medical Center, now known as Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerville. She spent twenty plus years working in the Labor and Delivery Department until her retirement in 1997.
Mildred was a devoted Yankee and Jets fan. The Jets' win, hours after her passing, was Mildred taking matters into her own hands. She enjoyed playing games, whether it be Bunco, Dominos, Bridge or Mahjong and was a ruthless Uno player. In retirement she joined a gym and did water aerobics well into her 80s. She made annual trips to Disney World with her daughter and was always ready to revisit the 'Mouse'. She researched her family tree and spent many hours creating family records to preserve the family history. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Emerald G. and Gertrude M. Metzgar and her loving husband Robert W. Moore (1990).
Surviving are five dear sons, Gary and wife Karen Wilbur of Madison, NJ; Daniel and wife Morag Wilbur of Windsor, Ontario; Kenneth Wilbur of Branchburg NJ; David and wife Cathleen Wilbur of Gillette NJ; Robert and wife Tara Moore of Mahopac NY; two loving daughters, Debra and husband Donald Kupper of Middletown, DE; and Peggy and husband Michael Wolff of El Prado, NM. In addition she is survived by nine adored grandchildren and twelve cherished great grandchildren.
