Michael F. DiVito, 42, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Born in Mount Vernon, NY, Mike moved to New Jersey when he was four and grew up in Hillsborough. He most recently resided in Branchburg.

A graduate of Hillsborough High School and Kean University, Mike spent the last 14 years as a special education teacher at Garden Academy in East Orange, NJ. He was a devoted and passionate educator who poured his time, patience, and compassion into his students, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.

Affectionately known to his closest friends as 'Stuie,' Mike had a heart big enough to make everyone feel like family. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate the people he loved, whether it was an engagement party or wedding, bachelor or bachelorette party, birthday, or any milestone worth gathering for.

Mike's outgoing personality and genuine kindness made him a true social butterfly, and he cherished every chance to be surrounded by family and friends. No family gathering truly began until Stuie arrived! His favorite event was the annual family Christmas party, where he would dress up like Buddy the Elf and help lead the family in the singing of holiday songs.

Mike found joy in the little things that made life fun. He was a true 'Bravoholic' who never missed an episode of his favorite Real Housewives. He could sing along to just about any pop or country song, loved the movie Mean Girls, and had a lifelong appreciation for cars. In recent years, Stuie developed a passion for country line dancing and loved nothing more than being on the dance floor with his best friends.

Whether he was spending time with loved ones, laughing over his favorite shows, or simply making memories with those around him, Mike lived life with enthusiasm, generosity, and a love for bringing people together. He was kind to everyone and is described by friends and loved ones as 'Quite simply, the best human being any of us ever knew.'

Surviving are his loving parents, Michaele and Thomas DiVito, his dear brothers, Peter DiVito and partner Anne Marie McLaughlin of Warwick, RI; Thomas DiVito of New Hope, PA; James and wife Casey DiVito of Leavenworth, KS; and his niece and nephews, Michaela, Kayden, and Thomas James 'TJ'.
