Maureen Elizabeth Phillips, 72, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Thursday, September 23, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jersey City, Maureen spent her childhood in Kendal Park then moved to Branchburg 46 years ago. She graduated from St. Peter's High School, New Brunswick, Class of 1967. Before retiring 15 years ago, Maureen worked as a Secretary for Country Day School and the Midland School. She enjoyed spending time with children and sharing her love of dancing and singing with them. Maureen loved to go shopping and she loved animals, especially cats of which she had many through the years. Her favorite activity she enjoyed the most, was spending quality time with her family, especially her granddaughter Isabella who she adored. She was predeceased in death by her beloved parents, Mary and John Bergen and her son Joey (1976).Maureen is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, William H. Phillips; two loving daughters, Danica and husband Mario Zolofra of Brick, NJ; Kara and husband Andrew Labetti and their daughter Isabella of Georgetown, KY; two step children, Beth Best and Eric Phillips; two dear brothers, Billy Bergen of E. Stroudsburg, PA; John and wife AnnMarie Bergen of Hillsborough, NJ; a sister Kathleen and husband William Smith of Branchburg, NJ; and many cherished grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
