Obituary

MaryAnn Potenta, 83, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Born in Taylor, PA, as a young girl she moved with her family to Newark, NJ, then to Elizabeth, NJ. She graduated from Battin High School in 1955, then on to Union College. Starting her life as a homemaker, she worked for Interbake Foods for over 25 years until her retirement in 2003. MaryAnn was a member of Pieced Together Quilters of Bridgewater. She also worked the election poles in Bridgewater for over 10 years. MaryAnn enjoyed sewing and was a lifelong quilter and creative mother who raised her children to be independent and strong. Her favorite saying was "Don't let anyone else do your thinking for you." She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, Henry R. Potenta (1990), her parents Mary and George Hreno, and a brother George Hreno. Surviving are her two dear sons, Raymond and wife Diane Potenta, Kyle and wife Jennifer Potenta, two loving daughters, Christine and husband William Heuser, Tanya and husband Vincent Miseo, one brother, Joseph and wife Judy Hreno, eight cherished grandchildren, Katelyn, Trevor, Zachary, Alec, Jamie, Avery, Henry, and Elyse, and many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 5-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. Burial is private.
