Martin Kulaszewski

Martin Kulaszewski, "Marty", as friends and family knew him, passed away on Saturday January 27, 2024 at RWJ in Somerville with his loving family by his side. He was 78 years old. Born in Somerville, NJ on January 22, 1946, Marty resided in Manville and Raritan before moving to Whitehouse Station in 2016.

Marty was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School. Marty then served our country from 1966 to 1972 as a member of the US Army in the Vietnam War. After serving our country, Marty then got a degree in Chemistry from Kean University. Marty went on to start a career at Revlon as a Research Developer. Marty then continued his career as a Research Developer as a chemist for Chanel in Piscataway, up until his retirement in 2014.

Marty was the epitome of a family man through and through. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, and being a constant source of support. Marty's calm and quiet grace were always creating a calming presence for all. Marty loved to shop. He was always searching for the greatest deals at various stores. Marty always loved taking his wife to the beach each summer to spend time amongst his loved ones. Creating long lasting memories with his family was something of utmost importance to him. Marty really enjoyed listening to Elvis, and spending time with family and friends. He had a passion for classic cars. There wasn't a car he didn't know. Marty enjoyed attending the Friday night car shows in Somerville with family and friends. Marty also had a passion for animals. He was especially fond of dogs, and always had a pocket full of treats to share with any dog that he could possibly meet along his way. Marty's time spent with his daughter Lisa, her husband David, and his grandson David Jr. was especially precious to him. They enjoyed many memorable dinners together in Long Branch.

Marty is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Anna and Leo Kulaszewski. Marty was also preceded in death by his two stepsons Ryan Seigler (2014) and Raymond Seigler (2023), who were endeared throughout their lives as his own sons.

Surviving is his wife of 31 years, Joanne Kulaszewski, his brother in law, Louis and wife Carol, sister in laws, Marge McSwain, and Grace Lanna. Joanne was the "Kootch" to his "Boo." Joanne and Marty were truly the best of friends. Marty did everything he could to keep his wife happy- even when they were busy making each other crazy. They loved each other more than words could ever say. Marty is also survived by his loving daughter Lisa and her husband David Enny of Oakhurst, NJ; and his cherished grandson David Jr. Marty is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
