Marie Steffner LeVan , 84, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at Whiting Healthcare in Whiting. Born in Staten Island, NY, she resided in Woodbridge and then Toms River, moving to Whiting in 2003. Mrs. LeVan was a nature lover who especially enjoyed fishing. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Gerard, in 1979. Surviving are her daughter, Jean Smith of Toms River; her loving sons, Arthur LeVan and wife, Christine of Hopewell, and Gary LeVan and companion, Sue Griffith of Belmar; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will begin at 8:15 AM on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by 9:00 Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 500 Route 22 East, Bridgewater. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Mountain Cemetery, Schooley's Mountain, NJ.
