Obituary

Marguerite Daily

Bridgewater, NJ

Marguerite Daily, 81, of Bridgewater, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and Nana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30th at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born and raised in Kearny NJ, she was a Bridgewater resident for over 50 years.

Marguerite attended St. Cecilia High School in Kearny. She married her best friend Robert in June of 1962, the two had the most beautiful and loving relationship.

They settled in Point Pleasant NJ and started a family, having three boys; however, they outgrew their tiny house and made the big move to Bridgewater, in the Bradley Gardens section. The location was perfect, the entire family made friends for life throughout the neighborhood.

Marguerite was extremely patient, kind, gentle and nurturing, as well as meticulously organized, leaving no detail behind. She was a bookkeeper for two local businesses, Uneeda Appliance and New Jersey Electric, both of Somerville. She retired in 2009, after 30 years of dedicated service. Her passion was her family, whether it was driving the boys to practices and games and being their number one fan, cooking amazing meals, vacationing in Maine and the Jersey shore. As her and Robert grew older, they spent many amazing summers in Wildwood Crest during the quiet month of September, with both of her sisters, brothers' in-laws, and parents. Walking the boardwalk, sightseeing, wonderful dinners, and having porch time to sit outside to witness the ocean views. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite family holidays and loved to entertain family and friends. She was an avid reader and accumulated her own personal library throughout the years. Much later in life her true joy was being 'Nana' to two cherished grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Marguerite Snyder, brother George Snyder Jr, her husband Robert Daily, and two sons, Brian Daily and Kevin Daily.

Surviving is her son, Jason Daily of Livingston, two loving grandchildren, Alexa Daily of Brooklyn NY, and Garrett Daily of Bayville; her sisters, Elaine McDonnell of Lakewood, and Mary Jane Hackett of North Arlington; and many nieces and nephews. She was cared for in her last stage of life by her wonderful caretaker, Manana, who gave her comfort and love each passing day.

Marguerite will be deeply missed by all, her sweet demeanor, loving nature, kindness and generosity will forever be cherished and remembered. She was a pillar of strength for her family, in good times, and in bad.
