Margaret Schmalz

Margaret Schmalz, 88, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at her residence. Born in Newark, NJ Margaret later resided in Branchburg where she lived for many years.

Upon High School graduation, Margaret worked as an Accounting Supervisor at Fireman's Fund Insurance. Later on, she became very involved in the community, and was a member of the Branchburg Senior Citizens association.

Margaret was an avid lover of both cooking and baking, especially when it came to the holidays. She enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel, and taking trips to the Poconos and Atlantic City. Margaret's grandchildren were her world, always spending time together, anything they did she wanted to be a part of.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents Theresa Fresco and William Esposito, her dear husband Ronald Schmalz, her sisters Josephine DelMonte, and Concetta Fracasso, and her son Michael Joseph Schmalz.

She is survived by her sister Pauline Palatella, brother Neil Esposito, son Ronald and wife Sharon Schmalz, her daughter Barbara and husband Steven Cornella Sr., her five cherished grandchildren: Jennifer, Melissa, Nicole, Steven Jr., Alyssa, and 12 adored great-grandchildren.
