Margaret "Maggie" Dinsmore, age 73 years, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 4, 2021 surrounded in love by her family. Maggie was born in Morristown, NJ to the late Catherine R. and James F. Murphy. She formerly resided in Scotch Plains, NJ and Milton, DE before moving to Branchburg three years ago. After graduating from Bayley-Ellard High School in Madison, NJ, she went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree from the College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ. Maggie taught Social Studies for over twenty years at Somerset Intermediate School in North Plainfield, NJ. Before teaching in North Plainfield, she taught in both Wayne and Hillside School Districts. Her dedication to her students and passion for helping them was unwavering. In retirement Maggie enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren. She was extremely talented and creative. Some of the many ways she put her talent to use was in sewing beautiful quilts and in decorating her home. She also loved practicing yoga and going for walks with her dog. While living in Delaware, Maggie was a mentor through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware organization where she continued her legacy of helping and caring for children who needed it. She is preceded in death by her brothers, James, Robert, and Timothy as well as her sister Joan. Surviving are her three children, Caitlin Dinsmore of Highlands, NJ; Robert Dinsmore of Piscataway, NJ; Patrick Dinsmore (Heather) of Raritan, NJ; brother William Murphy (Eileen) of Farmingdale, NJ; sisters Patricia Netter (John) of Woodstock, NY, Marie Snyder of Milton, DE, Kathleen Groves of Narragansett, RI and Bernadette (Ray) Servis of Appomattox, VA; two cherished grandchildren, Cara and Kyle; her beloved dog Rosie and many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 8th from 5-9pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, December 9th at 11AM. Committal is private.
