Marcelina A. DaCruz New Jersey/Portugal Marcelina A. DaCruz, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Born in Mealhada, Portugal she immigrated to the United States where she lived in Newark and Elizabeth, New Jersey before retiring and spending time in Portugal and New Jersey. Before her retirement in 1996 she worked for United Airlines as a food prep attendant. Marcelina loved Portugal, the Jersey Shore, a day at the Casino, crocheting, keeping up with family on Facebook and was an amazing cook and baker. She was very religious and had a great devotion to Our Lady of Fatima and praying the rosary, spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Ermelinda and Manuel DeJesus Almeida. Surviving are her beloved husband of 58 years, Manuel (Manny); two loving daughters, Anabela and husband Carlos Melo of Whitehouse Station, NJ, and Paula and husband Peter Gasparro of Lambertville, NJ; her dear brother, Joao and wife Fernanda Tavares Almeida of Portugal; her wonderful sister, Maria and husband Delfim Santos of Portugal; five cherished grandchildren, Michael, Antonio, Sofia, Marco, and Olivia; and many adored nieces and nephews. Viewing and Committal will be private A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Lambertville, NJ.
