Lydia L. Talevi Maiorca , 90, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Born in Somerville, she resided in Raritan for 39 years before moving to Hillsborough 51 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Ann's R.C. Church in Raritan and sang in the choir as a young girl. Mrs. Maiorca was a homemaker who was an avid gardener and was very proud of her flower garden. She enjoyed music, playing the violin, and was an avid bowler. Lydia also enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Elena Talevi; and her beloved husband of fifty years, Philip J. Maiorca, Sr., in 1998. Surviving are her cherished son, Philip J. Maiorca, Jr. and his wife, Colleen of Hillsborough; her beloved daughter, Pamela Maiorca Tellep and her husband, Phillip of Hillsborough; her four grandchildren, Phillip, Troy, Scott, and Amanda; her dear sister, Ulanda Calvo of Raritan; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by a 10 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Ann's R.C. Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan. Entombment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery & Mausoleum, Route 28, Bridgewater. Viewing hours are Monday, April 8, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
