Lillian I. Ricci, 80, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at RWJ University Hospital in Somerville. Born and raised in Staten Island, Lillian resided in Branchburg for the last 51 years.
Lillian graduated from Curtis High School in Staten Island, Class of 1959 and she was on the swim team. She went on to work for and retire from Hoechst Roussel Pharmaceutical, Bridgewater, NJ as Customer Service Supervisor from 1975-1996. In 1996, she started her second career for Branchburg Township - Fire and Safety as an Administrative Assistant until her retirement in 2020.
Lillian enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren, she never missed any of her grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals, plays or school events. She was an awesome Driver's Ed teacher to her grandchildren! She loved Bruce Springsteen especially belting out "BORN IN THE USA" and taking long car rides with her late husband, Bob. They loved going to Johnny's Hotdogs on Route 57. Lillian enjoyed going antique shopping and flea marketing. The one thing she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family. Some of her Favorite things were: BELIEVE, Anything Purple, Butterflies, Cleaning, above all making everyone else happy and always having a smile on her face.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harry and Helen Lee Murphy, and Helen's second husband, William E. Murphy, her son Robert John Ricci (2003), and her husband of 46 years, Robert Joseph Ricci (2010) and a brother, John Harry Lee.
Surviving are her loving daughter, Suzanne and husband Len Scharffenberger of Milford, NJ; her dear son Kevin and wife Peggy Ricci of Branchburg, NJ; her daughter in law, Charlotte Ricci of Whitehouse Station, NJ; six cherished grandchildren, Robert, Lenny, Miranda, Travis, Kevin and Josie, and her beloved canine companion, Mattison.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 4-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876.
A second viewing will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 9am-9:45am with a prayer service beginning at 9:45am.
Burial will be private.
