Leocadia Marini, 81, of Raritan, NJ, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021. Born in Poland, Leocadia came to the U.S in 1948. She resided in Manville for 11 years before moving to Raritan 45 years ago. Leocadia graduated from Manville High School, Class of 1958 and was the first graduating class of Manville. Shortly after finishing High School, Leocadia went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Seton Hall University. After receiving her Bachelor's Degree, Leocadia worked as a School Teacher for the Arch Diocese of Metuchen for 12 years. Leocadia was an avid Yankee's Fan and loved to attend the games. She took her son to his first Yankee game and they loved going to games together. She loved to have lunch with her six closest friends from the 3rd grade. She loved gardening, cooking, going down the shore and taking trips to Atlantic City. Leocadia liked to go camping in South Jersey at Creek Camp Ground. One thing Leocadia enjoyed the most was spending quality time with her family, especially her son JJ. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mary Pronko nee Kobajlo and Zenon Pronko, and a brother John Pronko. Surviving are her loving husband of 54 years, John J. Marini, a dear son John J.J. and wife Kelly Marini of Manville, NJ; a sister in law Marie Richardson of Raritan, NJ; and a niece Lisa. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 4-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 8:15am. A Funeral mass will take place on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 9am at Christ the Redeemer R.C. Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made in Leocadia's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
