Konrad Loebel, 83, of Fords, NJ, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Born in Tyssa, Czech Republic (formerly East Germany), Konrad immigrated to the United States in 1969 and has been living in New Jersey ever since. He became a US citizen in 1993. Konrad's original profession in German was that of fein Taschner - making hand crafted handbags for ladies. Upon his arrival in the US – he started a new career as a tool and die machinist working at this trade until his retirement. He enjoyed watching any kind of sports especially soccer and baseball and loved to go bowling. His favorite sports team were the Mets. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Gertrud and Franz Loebel and a sister, Helga Knipp. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Gisela Doegnes Loebel, one loving niece, Ulrike Ocasio and a dear nephew Armin Rot (residing in Germany)) A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 11am-1pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home at 1pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Konrad's memory to the Meghan Rose Bradley Foundation 6 Preston Drive Branchburg, NJ 08876.
