Kathleen "Kay" Commins Beenders , 92, died Friday, January 23, 2009, at the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she formerly resided in Scotch Plains, before moving to Bridgewater 41 years ago. Kay was a communicant of St. Bernard R.C. Church in Bridgewater, and a former member of the Somerset Valley Women's Club. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking, fishing, and spending her Easters in Vero Beach, Fl. She cherished the quality time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Henry, in 2003. Surviving are her loving sons, Henry Jr. and wife, Pam of Brick, Rich and wife, Fran of Barnegat, Kevin and wife, Barbara of Hillsborough, her loving daughter, Kathy Teeling, and husband, Bruce of Hampton, her ten grandchildren, her eight great-grand children and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin Wednesday, (January 28, 2009) with a prayer at 9:15 am at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 U.S. Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908)526-7638 followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 500 Rt. 22 East, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Interment will be in the St. Bernards Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visitation hours are Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00pm at the funeral home.
