Katherine R. DeLuca Renda , 82, of Green Brook, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at her residence. Born in New Brunswick, she resided in Green Brook for the past 61 years. Mrs. Renda was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Somerset Valley Construction. She was a former member and past president of the Green Brook PTO, one of the original founders of the Green Brook Lioness Club, and a member of the Green Brook Senior Citizens. Katherine loved cooking, doing crossword puzzles and was an avid traveler. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Oscar, in 1993. Surviving are her two beloved sons, Michael O. and wife, Barbara of Readington, and Salvatore of Maplewood; her three cherished daughters, Katherine C. Flaherty and husband, Michael J. of Millis, MA, Antonina Manfreda and husband, John G. of Readington and Gina Orlando and husband, Anthony of Bridgewater; 13 grandchildren, Antonina, Michael A., Michael J., Katie, Michelle, Elizabeth, Laura, Allison, Becky, Kristin, Hayley, Stuart and Oscar; her beloved sister, Sally Metallo and husband, Sandy of Flemington and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:15 AM on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638, followed by a 10 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 500 Route 22 East, Bridgewater. Entombment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery and Mausoleum, Bridgewater. Viewing hours are Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
