Karl Swanstrom, 65, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Born in Newark, NJ, Karl resided in Edison for 20 years before moving to Parlin 4 years ago. Karl graduated from Milburn High School, Class of 1974. Karl worked as a chef for various restaurants in the area. Karl was a member of the Edison BPOE Lodge #2487 and the South Amboy BPOE Lodge as well. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and reading. One thing Karl enjoyed the most was spending quality time with his family, especially his children and grandsons. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Harriet and Bjorn Swanstrom. Surviving are his loving wife of 35 years, Kathy Kaufmann Swanstrom, a dear son Erik Swanstrom of Middlesex, NJ; a loving daughter Danielle Swanstrom of Branchburg, NJ; a brother Bjorn and wife Florence Swanstrom, a sister Kristine and husband Bill Richardson of Florida; two cherished grandsons, Liam and Lexx, many loving nieces and nephews and his dog Lukas. A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 3-4pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. Committal is private.
